In 1923 the Southern Lacrosse Officials Association was founded to provide officials for colleges and private high schools that played lacrosse in Maryland.
Today the SLOA, as it is known, has grown to over 250 members and continues to provide officials for more than 300 college, club, high school and recreational league lacrosse teams in the Mid-Atlantic area.

Know the rules and how they are best applied for a safe and fair game. The SLOA hosts annual training for continued development.
Integrity
Have great personal integrity and a deep commitment to give 100% effort to keep every game safe and fair.
Quality
Represent the organization on the field each year at major lacrosse events including the NCAA playoffs and World Games.
